Evaluation of Anker Soundcore Life P2i
Peace of mind as they are made by Anker
Recently, truly wireless earbuds have become the mainstream. Various manufacturers are competing and releasing many products.
As the market for truly wireless earbuds has grown, there has been an increasing amount of unknown Chinese manufacturers releasing products and products without PSE marks being sold, creating a chaotic situation.
In such a situation, the fact that they are made by the well-known manufacturer Anker is a big reassurance.
Mr.ガジェットTruly wireless earbuds have batteries in them.
I don’t recommend using strange manufacturers you don’t know.
As we will explain in more detail later, they come with an 18-month warranty + 6-month extended warranty for members.
Sound quality… Equipped with a 10mm driver for powerful sound
Despite being a compact model, it is equipped with a 10mm driver. It delivers powerful bass.
In addition, it has a bass mode that enhances the bass and a podcast mode that emphasizes clear vocals, allowing you to enjoy sound tailored to the scene and characteristics of the music.
Supported codecs are normal for this price range.
The supported codecs are SBC and AAC.
Mr.ガジェットWell, it’s normal for this price range.
At best, it would support aptX.
Please refer to the table below for the characteristics of each codec.
| Codec | Features |
|---|---|
| SBC | The most standard codec. Basically, all devices support it. The sound quality and latency are standard and not particularly good or bad. |
| AAC | Commonly used by Apple products such as iPhones. Android 8.0 or later generally supports it. Better sound quality and lower latency than SBC. |
| aptX | Mainly adopted by Android. Lower latency and better sound quality than SBC and AAC. |
| aptX LL | LL stands for Low Latency. It is even lower latency than aptX. The sound quality is the same as aptX, but the latency is less than 0.04 seconds, achieving ultra-low latency. |
| aptX HD | High-resolution equivalent sound quality can be reproduced. Slightly higher latency than aptX. |
| aptX Adaptive | A codec that stabilizes and lowers the latency of aptX HD. By changing from a fixed bitrate to a variable bitrate, processing has become more stable and low latency has been achieved. |
| LDAC | A high-quality codec developed by Sony. The best sound quality among those introduced so far. Android 8.0 or later generally supports it. Higher latency than SBC. |
Please see this article for information about codecs and other wireless earphone-related explanations.

Noise canceling… Not supported
“Soundcore Life P2i” does not support noise canceling.
Mr.ガジェットIt’s not surprising that it doesn’t have noise canceling at this price point.
However, more and more truly wireless earbuds with noise canceling are appearing even at this price, so it’s a little disappointing…
Ambient sound mode… Not supported
Same as noise canceling, it is not supported.
Lightweight earphone body
The earphone body (per ear) is about 4.4g, which is quite lightweight.
The weight of the earphone body is an important consideration when wearing them for a long time, but 4.4g is not a problem at all.
Playback time… So-so
“Soundcore Life P2i” can play music for a maximum of 8 hours with the earphones fully charged. Also, when used with the included charging case, it can play continuously for a maximum of 28 hours. In addition, a 10-minute charge provides about 1 hour of music playback.
This playback time is not particularly long, nor is it short. It’s exactly what you would expect. So-so.
App… Not supported
Same as noise canceling and ambient sound mode, it is not supported.
Mr.ガジェットI thought Soundcore products generally supported apps, so this is very disappointing.
In fact, it was the only one on the official website that didn’t support the app…
Peace of mind with an 18-month warranty + 6-month extended warranty for members
“Soundcore Life P2i” comes with an 18-month warranty + 6-month extended warranty for members.
Also, Anker’s customer support is reliable.
Mr.ガジェットBecause it’s a well-known manufacturer, Anker has good support.
When Anker products broke down in the past, they were replaced immediately because they were within the warranty period!
