In recent years, truly wireless earbuds have made remarkable progress.
Recently, more and more models have been equipped with Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) and ambient sound mode even for less than 10,000 yen.
The “SOUNDPEATS T2” that I’m reviewing this time has been on the market for a year, but it is still frequently chosen as one of the top three truly wireless earbuds in the 5,000 yen price range.
It boasts sound quality that you wouldn’t expect from a 5,000 yen pair, high-performance ANC and ambient sound mode, and long-lasting battery life.
So, let’s review the “SOUNDPEATS T2”!

- High performance for the 5,000 yen price range
- Stylish and matte texture
- ANC and ambient sound mode support
- Sound quality that will satisfy most people
- MCSync simultaneous transmission to both ears
- Does not support apt-x
- Does not support wireless charging
- ANC and ambient sound mode settings are reset each time you charge
- Occasional connection problems

The supported codecs are limited to SBC and AAC, which is a bit disappointing.
I would have liked it to include apt-x.
The playback time is also excellent at 10 hours with the earbuds, and it is IPX5 water resistant, so it won’t be damaged by sweat or light rain.
It’s amazing that it supports noise cancelling (ANC) and ambient sound mode so well for around 5,000 yen!
However, it does not support wireless charging, so please be aware of that.

The “SOUNDPEATS T2” – Basic Information

The instruction manual was also available in Japanese.
Appearance

The charging case is very compact, but the earbuds themselves are slightly larger compared to other earbuds.
There are holes for the noise cancelling microphone under the logo.
The matte texture doesn’t make it look cheap.
How it Feels to Use
Sound Quality… It’s quite good compared to other earbuds in the same price range
I felt that the sound was powerful with strong bass and good spaciousness.
I think the sound quality is quite good compared to other earbuds in the same price range.
The sound pressure is also good, and the resolution is at a level that will satisfy most people unless you have very discerning ears.
Female vocals in particular sounded clear and bright.
It has a good amount of impact and a sense of thickness to the sound, so it goes well with pop music.
Noise Cancelling & Ambient Sound Mode… The best in this price range
The noise cancelling effect is surprisingly good, and while it doesn’t completely eliminate the sound, it is the best in this price range.
I was surprised that earbuds in the 5,000 yen price range could cancel noise this well!
High frequencies are difficult to eliminate completely, and it may be noticeable, but it’s not a big deal if you’re listening to music.
The ambient sound mode is also excellent.
The sound picked up by the microphone sounds a little unnatural, but the “piercing” sound that can be unpleasant is reduced, so you can use it without taking it out.
I think it can compete with earbuds around 10,000 yen.
However, it’s a bit of a hassle that the mode settings are reset each time you charge.
Connection… There are no particular problems when listening to music or watching videos
There is no noticeable delay. It may be difficult for FPS or rhythm games, but there are no particular problems when listening to music or watching videos.
Also, the “SOUNDPEATS T2” adopts MCSync (Multi Cast Synchronization), which supports simultaneous transmission to both ears.
Therefore, it supports single-ear mode for both the left and right earbuds, and sound skipping is reduced.
However, sometimes when you take out both earbuds, it switches to single-ear mode, or the left and right earbuds become independent.
In that case, you have to put them back in the charging case or reset the connection, which is very annoying.
