The most important thing when choosing a portable power supply is the battery capacity.

“EcoFlow River” has a capacity of 288Wh, which is relatively small compared to other portable power supplies. However, I don’t think the “EcoFlow River” was designed with a large capacity in mind, but rather with compactness and ease of use and cost-effectiveness.

Also, the type and number of output ports are very important when choosing a portable power supply.

“EcoFlow River” has a wide variety of output methods, including AC output (x3), USB-A output (x2), USB-A quick charge (x1), USB-C output (x1), cigarette socket output (x1), and DC5521 output (x2), which is convenient and reassuring!

Moreover, the USB-C output supports 100W, so you can comfortably charge your laptop.

How it Feels to Use

The USB-C port supports 100W. In the picture above, a smartphone is being charged. It charged quickly and satisfactorily. I also charged a laptop, and it charged quickly enough to be satisfied.

Also, when outputting, the panel displays how much power is being used and how long it can supply power.

The remaining time is also displayed when the light is turned on.

The USB-A has two ports that support up to 12W and one port that supports up to 28W. It may not be suitable for charging a laptop, but I was able to charge my smartphone without any problems.

It also has 3 AC output ports and supports up to 600W normally, and up to 1200W with EcoFlow’s unique X-Boost function! Moreover, it supplies safe, pure sine wave power, just like a regular household outlet.

As shown above, you can see how much power is being used for charging and how much time is left until it is fully charged.

The input supports AC charging, solar charging, and cigarette socket charging.

Similarly, EcoFlow’s unique technology allows charging in 1 hour and 80% and 1.6 hours and 100%, which is one of the fastest in the industry. Once you use it, you’ll be amazed.

Also, as mentioned later, you can select a quiet mode for charging on the smartphone app, and in quiet mode, it operates at about 40db, which is as quiet as a library.

Size and Weight

The size is relatively small for a portable power supply, and the weight is light enough to be carried with one hand. It also has a handle, which is perfect for carrying with one hand.

You can operate the status of the portable power supply and settings from the app like this.

You can do things that you can’t do with the buttons on the main unit and set up details that are difficult to understand, so the app is very useful.

However, you need to create an account to use the app, which is a bit of a hassle. But even if you don’t use this app, the “EcoFlow River” can still function fully as a portable power supply.

The “EcoFlow River” is a lightweight and easy-to-carry portable power supply with a good cost performance.

The manual is detailed, and the buttons are easy to use. I was particularly surprised by the speed of charging the main unit with EcoFlow’s unique technology. The price is also not that high among portable power supplies, and I feel that it is a product that I can definitely recommend for beginners.
