Cheap smartwatch “SOUNDPEATS Watch 2” review!

Recently, haven’t you noticed many people wearing smartwatches?
Many people think of Apple Watch when it comes to smartwatches, but there are also many smartwatches from manufacturers other than Apple.

This time, I’m going to review a smartwatch sold by SOUNDPEATS, which is famous for its earphones.

A major feature of this smartwatch is that it can measure blood oxygen saturation, which has become a hot topic during the coronavirus pandemic.
However, it is not designed as a medical device, so the values are for reference only.

When I opened the box, I thought it didn’t look as cheap as I expected.

Charging is done using the included charging cable like this.
It’s not connected via USB, but it charges magnetically.

Actual usage experience

Dedicated app is required, and it consumes a lot of battery

To be honest, I don’t recommend buying this smartwatch.
As mentioned in the heading, a dedicated app is required and it consumes a lot of battery. It’s unusable.

The image above is a screenshot of my smartphone after charging it to 100% and using it until it reached 20%.
21%/80%, so this app consumes about 1/4 of the smartphone’s battery.

There are countermeasures, but you can’t prevent it from running in the background, which will of course reduce battery consumption.

However, you won’t receive message notifications or automatic data synchronization.

You can create your own watch face

The image above is the app’s settings screen.
From the watch face settings, you can create a customized watch face using your favorite image.

It looks surprisingly good.
However, the resolution is not particularly high, so detailed depictions are impossible.

Illustrations should be fine, but if you use a photo of a person, the face will be blurred.

There are quite a few types of watch faces, but this is a disappointing point for me personally.

Summary

I absolutely do not recommend it

As I mentioned earlier, I do not recommend buying this smartwatch.

The main unit is actually great, but the dedicated app is so bad that it’s really a shame.
If you’re going to buy this, you’re much happier spending a little more money on a smartwatch from another well-known manufacturer.
