It’s very design-focused!
The icons are too cute!
Also, as you can see, these are in-ear type earphones, which are rare among truly wireless earphones.

Actual Usage Experience of Edifier TO-U2 mini
Sound Quality… Mid-range is decent. Low-end is a bit weak…
The mid-range and high-range sounds are decent, but the low-end is a bit weak.
It’s not a bass-heavy type, but more of a balanced type.
Looking at each frequency range, the mid-range is good and has a good sense of impact.
The low-end is weak and lacks weight and depth even when focusing on it.
Mr. GadgetIt’s a bit unavoidable for in-ear type earphones.
If you push the earphones firmly into your ears, you can feel some weight in the low-end.
The high-range also doesn’t feel very extended and has a light feel.
The overall balance is a bit off and lacks depth.
However, honestly, if you don’t have very refined ears, it’s a level that you probably won’t be dissatisfied with!
Codec is only SBC
The 『Edifier TO-U2 mini』 only supports SBC.
Mr. GadgetPersonally, I want it to support aptX for Android smartphones and AAC for iPhones…
SBC itself isn’t bad, and it’s said to be able to output CD-quality sound.
However, in reality, newer codecs have advantages in terms of sound quality and latency.
| Codec | Features |
|---|---|
| SBC | The most standard codec. Basically, all devices support it. Sound quality and latency are neither good nor bad, but standard. |
| AAC | Often used in Apple products such as iPhones. Android 8.0 or later generally supports it. Better sound quality and lower latency than SBC. |
| aptX | Mainly adopted by Android. Better sound quality and lower latency than SBC and AAC. |
| aptX LL | LL stands for Low Latency. It has even lower latency than aptX. Sound quality is the same as aptX, but latency is less than 0.04 seconds, achieving ultra-low latency. |
| aptX HD | A high-quality codec that supports high-resolution sound. It has slightly higher latency than aptX. |
| aptX Adaptive | A codec that stabilizes and lowers the latency of aptX HD. Changing from a fixed bit rate to a variable bit rate has made processing more stable and latency lower. |
| LDAC | A high-quality codec developed by Sony. The best sound quality among the ones introduced so far. Android 8.0 or later generally supports it. It has 3 sound quality modes: quality priority, connection priority, and balanced. Latency is higher than SBC. |
Ms. GadgetThe codec alone doesn’t determine sound quality or latency, but considering it’s one of the major factors determining sound quality, only supporting SBC may be a bit disappointing.

Noise Cancellation… Not Included (Only Call Noise Cancellation)
The 『Edifier TO-U2 mini』 does not include active noise cancellation (so-called noise cancellation).
It includes call noise cancellation, which cancels out ambient noise during calls to deliver a clear voice to the other party.
Mr. GadgetRecently, earphones with active noise cancellation have become the mainstream, so the lack of it is a bit of a drawback.
Ambient Sound Mode… Not Included
This is also not included, just like active noise cancellation.
Unfortunately…
Ultra-Lightweight! Incredibly Light!

These earphones are incredibly light.
Most earphones weigh around 6-7g per ear, and even lightweight earphones weigh around 5g. However, the 『Edifier TO-U2 mini』 weighs only 3.5g per ear, which is overwhelming.
Also, considering the case, most earphones weigh around 60-80g including the case, but the 『Edifier TO-U2 mini』 weighs only 39.6g, which is a different dimension.
Ms. GadgetThose who don’t want to weigh down their luggage will be happy!
Outstanding Design!

The OLED display on the case allows you to check the earphone status with cute icons.
The icons don’t always appear; they appear when a certain action is performed (“putting the earphones in the charging case”, etc.) and disappear after a few seconds.
Mr. GadgetI’ve been waiting for earphones that are this uniquely designed!
Also, as you can see, these are in-ear type earphones, which are rare among truly wireless earphones.

Summary
Design-focused to the extreme. That’s Edifier TO-U2 mini.
As you can see from reading this far, these earphones are particularly lightweight and have an OLED display.
If you’re looking for cost-performance, I recommend another earphone.
However, if you prioritize the weight of the earphones and design, I strongly recommend these earphones!
Mr. GadgetThis is the first time I’ve seen an earphone with such a clear concept!
I like it more than average earphones! (laugh)
The sound quality isn’t bad either, and it’s a good choice as a lightweight, design-focused earphone.
